Eau Flirt Review & Giveaway



I was chosen to review the perfume Eau Flirt by Harvey Prince, a brand in which I'm slightly familiar with. A few years back I won a Dr. Oz giveaway, where the prize was Eau de Lite, a curve your appetite perfume, which had a very pleasant smell of peppermint, orange (?), and floral, kind of an odd combination, but it worked. Because I've enjoyed their perfumes in the past, I jumped on the chance to try a different scent from them.


To be honest I've been putting off writing this review, no not because the product is bad, but for the simple fact that I have no one to give me a second opinion on it, I know what it smells like on me, but how does someone else perceive it on me? Well, not sure, I'll have to add that part in later.

When smelling Eau Flirt from the bottle it has a very light floral scent. When it's sprayed it kicks up a notch and the smell is stronger, but not overwhelming. The smell also changes from light floral to a strong citrus, with an under layer of floral, and under that a spicy pumpkin scent.

To be honest if I didn't read the website before I wrote this, I would not have guessed pumpkin, I loathe pumpkin scented things, but it's so light that it's not that noticeable, I actually spent 5 minutes huffing the bottle and the place I sprayed myself trying to pick it out *insert slight light headedness* The scents Harvey Prince actually uses are: Lavender, Pumpkin Pie, Citrus, Jasmine, Freesia, Ylang Ylang, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Ambers.

Eau Flirt is described as: Seductive. Sparkling. Wicked. The logic used behind the making of this perfume? Pumpkin pie and lavender have been shown to evoke a more passionate response in men than any other smell. Why do men find these two scents so arousing? Experts believe men subconsciously associate pumpkin and lavender with happy, positive and stimulating memories. *Interesting* The only thing I can think of when those two things come up is Thanksgiving and...I don't think I've ever smelled straight up lavender *shrug*

Personally besides enjoying the smell, I'm not sure I can call this perfume seductive, sparkling, or wicked, but I've never been one to be able to categorize a perfume like that, my categories are young, mature, and old lady; cologne on the other hand mmmhmmm, I can sniff out a "hot" cologne from across the room. Anyway, I wish I could give you feedback on how people perceive the perfume, but alas I'm a homebody and I don't have any one to ask at the moment.

My opinion? It's a nice smell, it's not overwhelming, I'd classify it as mature, but I'm interested in what other people with think of it, that vastly determines how often I'll wear it. If you're interested in Eau Flirt, I suggest buying a smaller bottle first, which are $12, just to see if it's the right scent for you.

Bullet Designs Review and Giveaway

I lucked out when I ran into the Bullet Designs company, I truly did, and was so grateful when they responded to my email asking if I could write a review and host a giveaway for one of their products.

I love guns, I have since my dad bought me my first BB gun when I was 8 or 9, he used to bring me shooting up to camp, until I "outgrew" it. Then there was the army, I would've enjoyed the firing range more, but it was always hurry up and wait for 8 hours. So, it's been close to 5 years since I've fired a weapon, longer since I went shooting for fun, and I miss it, which is one of the reasons I was so excited to find this company, the item I would chose would be a way to remember the fun times.

Bullet Designs makes jewelry and other items (money clips, key chains, belly button rings, etc.), using recycled shell casings of various calibers, you can even send them your own casing for an extra charge:

    The item I chose to review was the Custom Bullet Leather Bracelet in brown and brass with a 45 colt casing. I have always wanted a leather cuff and the casing and filigree were the peanut butter sauce and whip cream on top, what, lol, I don't like cherries. My bracelet arrived 4 days after ordering and came in a simple brown jewelry box. The cuff wasn't as wide as I thought it would be, it's about an inch thick, but I LOVE it. 



    The color is perfect (I have a weird attraction to brown leather) and the brass compliments it so well. The sizing is great, it has two snaps for ajustability, I wear it on the snap that makes it the smallest (which makes it 7 1/2"),  since I have narrow wrists and there's still a fingers width of room left, so it's not at all tight. The leather itself is very soft and comfortable, unlike some leather jewelry you'd find.


    I wish I could stress how much I love this bracelet, I wear minimal jewelry, but I can tell that this is going to be a permanent fixture on me.     CoverPlug Review and Giveaway




    I was given the opportunity to review a great little product called coverPlug.

    I love the concept of this product. It's a solid piece of blank plastic that has two little prongs on the back that slide easily into the round holes of a three pronged socket and covers the entire outlet. Installing it took all of five seconds, it was simple, no tools were required, and it fit snugly into place.




    The benefit of having it blank is that it can be painted over to match the rooms color so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. All the rooms in my house are white, so I didn't have to do any painting, BUT I did decide to get a little creative and draw Dora onto one of the two I received to put in my daughters room.


    While writing this review I only thought of two negatives:

    1) You won't be able to use this product if you don't have 3 pronged sockets, my old house had 2 pronged sockets, so these would have been useless there.

    2)If you needed to use one of the two sockets you'd have to take the entire plug out, leaving one socket exposed

    In the end, I do love the concept of this, I give it an A for effort and a B+ for the overall product because it did have those two little draw backs I listed. I still like the coverPlug much more then those pain in the butt single outlet protectors that take an act of god or three broken fingernails to take out.

    Ornaments With Love Review and Giveaway

    For the past few weeks I've seen these cute little ornament reviews floating around the internet and each time I saw one, I wanted to review one for myself just a little more. So, I put on my big girl blogger pants and sent a note off to the company (Ornaments With Love), asking if I could review their product and possibly give one away, a week later they responded back with a YES for both *insert happy dance*.

    While scrolling through their website I came across some absolutely adorable ornaments, so many that it was very hard to chose. There are 2,000 ornaments to choose from and something for everyone: couples, families, babies, military, cancer survivors, all sorts of hobbies (they even have an ornament for zip lining, lol), sports, professions, and the list goes on. I was massively impressed. Oh, and if you're looking for something specific and don't want to look through everything to find it, they have a search bar that will help narrow things down a bit.

    The two that I was torn between (after I forced myself away from the horse ornaments, since I no longer ride) was the Coupon Collector and the Online Shopper, the online shopper won out :)


    Less then a week after ordering, my ornament arrived and I LOVE it, it came out so well, the lettering is all hand written (nicely done at that) and the ornament itself is just a neat concept. My ornament is made out of resin, which is a dense type of plastic, so if it falls off the tree or man handled by a 3 year old, it's unlikely to break.



    So, if you are looking for a great, inexpensive, gift this year that will last, I suggest buying a personalized ornament from Ornaments With Love.     When approved to review the book Anabella Giggles All Day! by Dr. Nev Nickels, I was excited because I didn't have any e-books for my daughter on my kindle and the book looked like something she would enjoy, since it's for ages 3-7 and described as easy-to-read rhyme.

    After I read the 40 page story book a few times, I decided I was pretty disappointed with it. It wasn't very easy to read rhyme, it felt forced and the rhyming just wasn't very good. The characters names (Anabella and Imani) didn't flow well with the text and made it even more difficult to read. I had to re-read parts because I thought it was my fault that it somehow wasn't flowy and rhyming like kids books usually are.

    Here's an example of what I'm talking about when I say forced:

    "Happiliy incited and excited,
    Anabella then said
    "Imani did you know
    your cheeks are totally red?"

    And for the not great rhyming:

    "Yay I did it!
    Anabella you're cured.
    You're not laughing too much
    or too loudly anymore."

    As I'm trying to stay with the book, it takes a turn and jumps from Imani being angry at Anabella, to something call the Rhompees, and then they make up and the book just ends. It was an odd story that didn't have a very good flow and was a bit confusing.

    Also, I was quite disappointed about the screen set up on the Kindle, two pages of the book would only fill half the screen, making it slightly more difficult to read and fully take in the illustrations. On a positive note though the illustrations were well done and colorful, looking back I could actually get more out of the illustrations then the actual words.

    I personally wouldn't recommend this book if you're looking for an easy to read kids book, but if it's something you would be interested in it's available in e-book form for $2.99, which can be read on:

    Fire Light Review and Giveaway

    Recently (in the past year) I've become a huge book fan, mostly romance, erotica (wink wink), and paranormal, so when I was chosen to review the newly released (October 2013) book Fire Light (Trinity of Mind) by J. Abram Barneck, I did a little excited clap that I got to put another book under my belt, so to speak.

    When I first started reading Fire Light, I groaned, it was SUPER slow the first few chapters, as in eat, exercise, sleep 4 hours, rinse and repeat, I actually doubted I was going to be able to finish the book if it kept going the way it was. Then...Jake, the 17 year old main character, got shot and it all went up hill from there. It became so fast paced, that I didn't want to put it down, I would read for hours at a time; it took me 3 days to finish this 437 page book.

    There was danger everywhere the reader was taken, peace would only come to the characters in couple hour spurts, then it would be all vampires, snipers, nightwalkers, o, my! It is honestly one of the better books I've read in a while.

    If I were to categorize this book I would say that it was young adult, modern, paranormal, action? There was zero swearing and zero sex, a few kisses here and there, but for the most part it was clean (although there is a love triangle between Jake, Kendra, and Alexis)...and a lot of violence, I mean the characters are fighting for their lives.

    The ending is left very open for another book because well, there are going to be 3 other books with the same characters written (or that's the plan) and I can't wait! 

    I would HIGHLY recommend this book, I mean I'm planning on giving this 5 stars on Amazon and I don't give high ratings if the book is crap. Don't let the young adult part put you off either, it's very well written, as I said earlier it's fast paced, and the characters are very likeable even though there is betrayal at every turn.

    Ultimately, protecting his loved ones, and himself if possible, becomes his priority."

    Paper Turkey-Thanksgiving Craft Project

    Thanksgiving Craft Project

    Bored? Need activity to do with your kids? Then grab a few materials and make a construction paper turkeys to use as decorations for Thanksgiving :)


    Materials Needed:
    • Construction paper
    • Scissors
    • Sharpie or Pen
    • Something with a straight edge (ruler, I used a piece of scrap paper)
    • Glue/glue stick (glue stick would probably work better)
    Directions:

    1. Grab a red, orange, and yellow (and brown if you have it) piece of construction paper

    2. Place the paper in a stack

    3. Trace your hand out on the top piece of paper, towards the bottom so you can use the extra space of the scrap paper.

    4. With the pieces of paper still stacked cut out your hand print

    5. Fan out and arrange your hand prints (I spread out so 2 of my thumbs were facing right and one left)

    6. Glue them together, just a few dabs on the palms would work

    7. Cut out, what would be the turkeys body, a cylinder hourglass shape (use the extra space at the top of the red left over paper)

    8. Glue the body to the center of the top hand print

    9. Cut a tiny triangle of yellow for the beak and glue it to the center of the upper part of the hourglass

    10. Cut out what will be the feet using the yellow paper and glue them to the bottom of the hourglass

    11. Cut the gobbler thing out of the red paper

    12. Use the pen or marker to draw eyes, make feathers (this is where I used the straight edge), and I used it to outline the gobbler thing and the body, since I did red on red.


    And your done, below is an example of what the finished product looks like, results may very depending on your kids ages, lol. Have fun :)
