Vellostar Liquid Chalk Markers Review

 Vellostar Liquid Chalk Markers

A few months ago I bought a hanging chalk board from Michael's for $2, I also bought a box of chalk for $1. When I went to go draw on it, I had a huge problem, it wouldn't work. I don't know if it was the chalk or the board, but trying to write and draw was nearly impossible, I even broke the chalk a few times; the ease of using a simple writing implement was non existent. So, I did what any good blogger would do and requested to review Vellostar Liquid Chalk Markers.

I was sent a box of 8, 6mm bullet/chisel tip, they came in pink, purple, red, orange, yellow, blue, green, and white. To get them started you press the tip, put the cover on and shake, then press the tip on a flat surface until the tip fills up with liquid. To change the tip is very easy, just pull the tip out and flip it around, sliding it back into place (will be a little messy, if the tip is filled).

These chalk markers were very simple to use after the tips were filled, it's just like using a regular marker, very smooth, fluid, and the colors were great, very bright. To erase just use a wet cloth/paper towel and wipe off.

I learned that it wasn't the chalk it was the chalk board. I think it's just a piece of wood painted over with chalk board paint because it was very difficult to erase the regular chalk and the shadows of the liquid chalks. The chalk markers still did a fantastic job writing on it, though and I would recommend them to anyone who's sick of dull chalk, uneven lines, and breakage. You can buy Vellostar Liquid Chalk Markers on Amazon for about $11 a package, free shipping with Prime.

I received Vellostar Liquid Chalk Markers free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

Easy 3 Cheese Lasagna Recipe

Cheese Lasagna Recipe

I received a coupon for a free jar of Ragu from Influenster, so I used it to make a quick Cheese Lasagna. I buy the Ragu Chunky Tomato, Onion, and Garlic sauce, so that it's a few less steps I have to complete to add flavor my recipe. This is the FIRST time I've made a lasagna and I guess I did a pretty decent job, since my husband had three helpings. It's about a 15 minute prep and turns out delicious. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup of Shredded Mozzarella
  • 1 egg
  • 1 jar of Ragu Chunky Tomato, Onion, Garlic
  • 6 uncooked Lasagna Noodles (I used Barilla Oven Ready)
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Mix egg, Ricotta, Parmesan, and 3/4 cups Mozzarella together
  • Spread sauce on the bottom of an 8x8 baking dish
  • Place 2 Lasagna Noodles on top of sauce, I had to break the corners so they'd fit
  • Spread half the cheese mixture over top the noodles
  • Repeat with the sauce, noodles, cheese mixture
  • Add the last of the noodles and sauce (making sure to cover noodles)
  • Add the rest of the Mozzarella to the top of lasagna
  • Cover with foil
  • Bake for 35 minutes
  • Remove foil
  • Bake another 15 minutes
Serves 4-6

Nana's Molasses Cookie Recipe

Molasses Cookie Recipe
Would you like to make the worlds most delicious Molasses Cookies? If so, follow the directions below, to make my Nana Joan's recipe. Warning: These cookies are extremely addictive, to the point you can eat 20 of them and not feel sick, so yeah, I warned you ;)

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup Crisco
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
 Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Mix DRY ingredients in a medium/large bowl
  • Mix the rest of the ingredients (molasses, Crisco, and egg) in another bowl
  • Mix all ingredients together, the mixture will be somewhat dry, usually I have to hand mix it towards the end, to get everything together
  • Roll dough into 1" balls and then roll in sugar (I put a bit of sugar in a small to bowl to cut down on mess)
  • Place balls onto an UNGREASED baking sheet
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes
    • If you want them soft/chewy bake for 8-9
    • If you want them crunchier bake for 10
    • These will LOOK a bit uncooked when you take them out, DO NOT cook longer or they will be hockey pucks.
 Recipe makes about 40 cookies

CorsetChick.com Review

CorsetChick

I was given the opportunity to receive a corset of my choosing from CorsetChick.com free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion, so I chose the Steel Boned Fairy Corset in Purple.

When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was how gorgeous the corset was, it laces up the back with black satin ribbons and can be closed in the front with metal hooks, it also came with a g-string, that I immediately threw away, it was a triangle of material and not at all attractive, lol.

The nice thing is that you can get the corset on two different ways, loosen the ribbons in the back or release the hooks in the front, but the hooks are the BIGGEST pain the @$$ to close, takes me 5-10 minutes each time I put it on to get all the hooks in place. Another thing I noticed is that the center ribbon at the top is not centered, but I could always pin it in place if I had to.

The sizing appears to be very accurate, I'm a size 12/31 and I ordered a 2XL (32-34" waist) and I can't tighten it anymore, I would order a XL next time.

If you are looking for a nice looking corset, but don't want to break the bank, buy from CorsetChick. On a side note, these are more costume corsets then waist training corsets, so just be aware when you're buying. The corsets are made for girls of most sizes and go up to size 8XL (42-46" waist) and cost between $18 and $60 each.

My Little Pony Party

I was given the opportunity to choose a birthday package from Wholesale Party Supplies free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. I spent an hour (possibly more) looking for a perfect birthday kit that my daughter Mary would love for her birthday and I found it.

I chose the "My Little Pony Ultimate Kit" that serves 8. It included:
  • Plates
  • Cups
  • Napkins
  • Forks, knives, and spoons
  • Table cover
  • Birthday candles
  • "Happy Birthday" banner
  • 3 foil balloons
  • Pack of foil swirl decorations
  • Table decorating kit with large and small centerpieces, confetti, and a pink curling ribbon

When my daughter's birthday came around, I gave the birthday kit to my mom to set up at her house, so not everything was used because everyone was out of town on holiday and it was a very small get together (5 adults and Mary).

When Mary saw all the decorations she was so happy and excited. The piece she loved the most was the GIANT Rainbow Dash balloon, that was almost as tall as she was! I wish my mom would've set up the Princess Celestia center piece because I'm sure she would've love that too, but she enjoyed playing with the dangling swirl characters.

Everything in the My Little Pony Ultimate Kit was of high quality, made to withstand a kids birthday party, some of the decorations could even withstand another birthday, definitely worth the $45.99. I was really impressed with it and will probably shop at Wholesale Party Supplies again for her next birthday (I'm thinking Scooby-Doo or Star Wars). I absolutely recommend Wholesale Party Supplies, everything is in one place, you can search themes, and shipping is $7.99 flat rate with 2 day delivery!
