Nurtrisystem Week 20

WOOO baby did I hit a rough patch, everything was going well until I hit a brick wall of cravings and caved into them. I have no clue what happened, but all of my will power disappeared (I still didn't cave into soda though!). I was eating everything and anything and nothing seemed to satisfy my hunger. Then when I stepped onto the scale late last week and it read 187, I was like "Oh Hell no," I'm NOT going back there again.

So instead of eating a candy bar or some other type of junk food, I've been reaching for cheese sticks instead and it's been working (PS Price Chopper brand cheese sticks are the bomb). I'm happy to report that I'm back down to 185.0, which is 2 lbs less then my Uh-Oh moment from last week and .6 lbs less then my official weigh-in from the week before.

My goal is to lose 4 lbs in the next 2 weeks and reach my 30 lb mark. I was a very bad girl and shouldn't have let my cravings control me like that, in all reality I should have met my mark by now, but I've learned my lesson and the only thing left to do is move forward and try my best. I'm doing this for a happier future and can't stop or give up now, especially with how far I've already come.

Wish me luck and I'll let you know how things are going in next weeks post!

Little Cosmetics Review

I applied to write a review on Little Cosmetics because my 3 year old daughter, Mary, LOVES makeup. Every time we go to my mom's house, my mom lets her play with eyeshadow, the result? A big mess on her face and her crying as I try to get the makeup away from her, making me feel like a bad mommy.

Usually I wait a week or two to write a review on an item, but I really just couldn't wait with this, mainly because my daughter's excitement transferred over to me. Below is a picture of the Essential Set I received from the little Cosmetics company.

 The Essential Set includes:

- One Pressed Powder Compact
- One Lip Gloss
- One Pink Blush Compact
- One Glitter Shadow Pot
- One Eye Shadow Palette
- Makeup Brush Set

- Nonbreakable Mirror

The great thing about these pieces? The brushes are REAL (even mom can use them) and the makeup is FAKE, I know they look real right? When I first opened them I was like "Oh, God I thought this was going to be fake makeup?" Well it was, it only looks real, it's actually very realistic colored foam.
I knew Mary would be ecstatic over her new toys, so I had her sit on the floor and handed her the bag; if a picture is worth a thousand words, check out the one below :)

Once she took out all the individual pieces, she got right to it. When she opened the first compact and tried to use the eye shadow brush to get the makeup on it, she was confused when nothing came up, but after I explained to her that the makeup was pretend, she didn't look back. Mary opened each piece and carefully "applied" her makeup, using the brushes (see the pictures below).

It was so adorable watching her do this and the best part? Hardly any clean up and definitely no mess to wipe up. She sat on the floor for at least 2 hours, just "applying" makeup, using all the different brushes, she even made sure to "do" my makeup. That's another thing I love about this set, since the brushes are real I don't have to worry about her poking my eye out (a lot of kids makeup sets have fake plastic applicators...ouch).

Needless to say, this product gets a BIG A+ from me and my daughter, this is definitely one of her favorite toys. The only hard part is getting her to keep all the pieces together...OOOO brilliant idea from Mommy, I'll give her one of my Target beauty bags! Yay, that solves that :)

You can purchase the Little Cosmetics sets (or even individual pieces) on their website or Amazon. Sets start at $20 (which is the one I got) and individual pieces start at $3.50.

Great news. I've been given a chance to give one of these sets away to a lucky fan, so if you know any little girls, enter! This would be a perfect gift.
a Rafflecopter giveaway  I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Nutrisystem Week 18

This past week I was outside and doing something almost everyday (I have the lobster shoulders to prove it), that's why I'm disappointed to report that I've actually gained a pound this week (well this morning it was a pound, this afternoon it's .6 lbs). :(

I think I may know the cause though, bagels...Yep, bagels, I believe they are my kryptonite. For 3 days in a row I had an Onion bagel for lunch or dinner and that's about the time I started gaining the weight and I just can't seem to shake it off. Plus I was out all Saturday and ate fast food twice. For the past two days though I've been doing yard work and cleaning out our garage and still can't seem to get rid of that pesky pound, what's worse is my scale is being a tool. When I step on it, it will tell me I gained an extra pound, then I panic a little and step off, it will tell me it needs to clear, then I'll have to get back on and weigh myself again, and I "lose" that extra (extra) pound.

On a positive note, being outdoors has "cured" me of my sleeping issues. Before I couldn't get to bed until 1:30-2 a.m. and waking up at 10 a.m. now I'm getting to bed at 10-11p.m. and waking up between 8-8:45 a.m. which is a very nice change, it gives me more time to get things done and puts me in a better mood because it doesn't feel as if I've wasted my day.

Another positive...it's been 18 weeks since I've had ANY soda! It's going to be tough this summer though, during really hot days, when I want something crisp and ice cold. I've been craving Orange soda, since this nice weather (76*) started in VT. Oh! Maybe that's another reason I haven't been losing weight, I haven't been drinking as much water because I'm either to busy to think about it or just don't have access at the time.

Well no more bagels for me and more water, then hopefully next week I'll have a little loss to show because I plan to be outside and active as much as I can this summer, my daughter will help see to that :)
