Molasses Cookie Recipe
Would you like to make the worlds most delicious Molasses Cookies? If so, follow the directions below, to make my Nana Joan's recipe. Warning: These cookies are extremely addictive, to the point you can eat 20 of them and not feel sick, so yeah, I warned you ;)Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup Crisco
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Mix DRY ingredients in a medium/large bowl
- Mix the rest of the ingredients (molasses, Crisco, and egg) in another bowl
- Mix all ingredients together, the mixture will be somewhat dry, usually I have to hand mix it towards the end, to get everything together
- Roll dough into 1" balls and then roll in sugar (I put a bit of sugar in a small to bowl to cut down on mess)
- Place balls onto an UNGREASED baking sheet
- Bake for 8-10 minutes
- If you want them soft/chewy bake for 8-9
- If you want them crunchier bake for 10
- These will LOOK a bit uncooked when you take them out, DO NOT cook longer or they will be hockey pucks.
Recipe makes about 40 cookies
