Zone Perfect Nutrition Bar Review

So, in the past month and a half, I've lost 20 lbs, YAY!

What have I done? I wake up at 5:30 every morning to walk or jog, I've cut most of the junk out of my life, and I try to keep my calorie intake at about 1,500.

To help me keep my calorie intake at a managed level, but still give myself a treat, I started buying Zone Perfect bars from Costco, they're about $17 for a box of 24 (much cheaper then if you buy them in a store); you get 12 peanut butter and 12 chocolate fudge graham.

They are absolutely delicious, I use them as a meal replacement and have one for either breakfast or lunch. The peanut butter flavor tastes like a peanut butter cup with crispies in it and the fudge graham tastes like a s'more made with cinnamon graham crackers.

Zone Perfect Nutrition Bars are filling and satisfy my sweet tooth, while giving me the nutrition my body needs. So, if you're looking for something to help you in your weight loss or fitness journey, give these bars a try, they're much better then a candy bar and highly recommended.

Headlight Restoration Kit Review

My husband had bought a used car last year and the headlights were very yellowed, to the point they were almost worthless while driving at night, so..dangerous. He was actually thinking about buying new headlights, which is a couple hundred dollars.

Instead of him buying new headlights, I decided to apply and test H&A Quality(Quick-E) Headlight Restoration Kit this winter. Yes, I'm very late in writing a review, but living in Vermont the winters are pretty bitter and today is the first predictable nice day we've had.

The H&A Quality(Quick-E) Headlight Restoration Kit restores your headlights, from dirty, foggy, scratched, or yellowed headlights, in 3 easy steps, there's nothing abrasive, no endless buffing and polishing, absolutely no skills needed, anyone can do it and in less than a minute!

  
The kit includes two cleaning cloths (one for each front headlight), a drying cloth, a polishing wipe, glove, and instructions. Using the kit is very easy, just clean each headlight with the cleaning wipes, dry them off with the drying cloth, then use the polishing wipe, BAM done, and with a VERY noticeable difference.

So, I didn't get any before pictures because my husband put huge doubts in my mind that the restoration kit would NOT work, that the headlights were too far gone. The ONE time I listen to him...he was totally wrong.

Even after just wiping them down with the cleaning cloth I started noticing a big difference, but o-m-g after using the polishing wipe, they were like new, even cleaner then my new car's headlights. I am honestly amazed with this product and so was my husband. 

I would completely recommend this product, 100%. It's VERY easy to use, it costs about $20, but hey that's a lot cheaper then replacing the headlights or bringing your car somewhere to get them cleaned, and most importantly it works.

Almondina Review & Giveaway

I was contacted by Almondina to see if I would like to review their new line of products on my blog...Well of course I did!

Almondina sent me a variety box of their newest snacks, Toastees. Almondina cookies have been on the market for over a quarter of a century. Toastees are a new snack/cookie, that is the first product introduced by the next generation of the Almondina family. The flavors included in my sample pack were:

•  Coconut Orange Almond
•  Cranberry Almond
•  Sesame Almond

So, I have a dirty secret, I am addicted to cookies, I can say no to pastries, cakes, ice cream, even a candy bar, but I can never say no to a cookie (unless it's oatmeal raisin). After trying Almondina Toastees, I could probably trade out my very bad for me cookies with these almond thins. Why? Because they have an amazing taste.

• The Coconut Orange, tastes like an orange Milano cookie, they're freaking delicious. I can't taste the coconut, but the orange is noticable.

• When eating the Sesame Almond Toastees, the first thing I taste is vanilla and the after taste is sesame flavor, they are surprisingly yummy.

• As for the Cranberry flavor, they have a mild sweet cranberry flavor. I know it's cranberry, but it reminds me of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia.

Aside from their delicious taste. They are a healthy alternative to regular cookies. Toastees run about 65 to 69 calories per serving (7 pieces), usually after 1 or 2 servings my cravings are settled and I can put them down, which is really good for me. They have no added fat, no added salt, zero preservatives, and are dairy free. The dairy free part is huge for me because my daughter is intolerant and it's so hard finding a yummy snack for her. \

I highly recommend Almondina Toastees, they are delicious, good for you, and a lower calorie snack alternative. I received samples in exchange for an honest review, my opinions are my own.

Oh, how I love Influenster (a free program that sends you FREE products to try).

Maybelline Brow Define + Fill Duo Review

I went to dinner with my sister a little while ago and the first thing I noticed was her eyebrows. Of course me being who I am, I blurted out, "Did you do your eyebrows?!" and her being her, "Yeah, want me to show you?"

While I didn't have her show me, I did start thinking about my eyebrows. They're half blonde and slightly sparse. In some lighting it, and usually pictures, it doesn't look like I even have eyebrows. Well, I wanted to change that, especially after seeing how good my sister's eyebrows looked.

I went to Rite Aid and started perusing the makeup aisle. Under a sign saying 40% off, I found Maybelline Brow Define in Blonde.

One side is like an eyeliner and the other end is a soft sponge containing filler powder. It's super easy to use, I'm a total novice when it comes to makeup and didn't mess it up, all you do is:

Step 1. Define and set eyebrows with the defining wax pencil using short and light strokes.
Step 2. Fill in with the powder along the natural brow contour.

And bam, you're done and your eyebrows look great. Below are head shots showing before and after of what my eyebrows looked like. I HIGHLY recommend grabbing a Maybelline Brow Define + Fill Duo pencil if you have eyebrow issues like me.

Decorative scroll 3 Tier Spice Rack Review

I bought this decorative spice rack from Amazon at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest review.

My opinion is that it's okay, I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars:

It's about an inch too wide to mount on the side of my cabinet and I have a tiled back splash, so I don't have anywhere to mount it.

The main reason for the 3 star review is that the bottom tiers are only good for small and medium spice containers, which I only have about 5 of, all my other spices are in the tall bottles.

So if you choose to buy it, make sure you measure the space you'll put it in, and stick to small and medium containers.

Sub-Note: It may work better for cosmetics then spices, I'm going to put it in my bathroom as an alternative.

Nestle Splash Vox Box #NestleSplashofFun

I received the Nestle Splash Vox Box from Influenster, in it I received:

My opinion of the beverage Nestle Splash Mandarin Orange is that in general I like it, it has a nice mild flavor, definitely not overwhelming, but for me it has a slight burn/scratchy feeling going down, I don't know if I have a sensitivity to one of the ingredients or what, but I haven't seen anyone else post about it.

Personally I won't be switching my Arnold Palmer Half and Half ice tea, since I'm obviously sensitive to something in it. I would recommend it though, if you don't like drinking plain water, it's also a healthier alternative to other beverages, with it having zero calories and carbs.

This is a very cute and fun toy for an older child (I'd say between 6 and 10?). The doll is very pretty, and dressed well, I loved the hair color (purplish, red). There are lights on the hover board which turn on when you use it.

I like that this toy actually works like it's supposed to, there is a removable stand that connects the doll to the hover board so that she remains stable and there is also a smaller 3rd wheel in the front so that it doesn't flop forward. To use the hover board, you switch the power on the hover board and remote and you push the buttons on the remote to move it forward, backwards, and to turn left or right.

This is a very fun toy and I would definitely recommend it.

Things to note: The hover board comes with batteries (3 AAA), but the remote doesn't (2 AAA) and it's a pain in the butt to take out of the box.

BarkBox Review

I have an almost 1 year old Pitbull mix and he's a chewer...I mean like bad, toys last MAYBE an hour around here. So, I thought I'd give BarkBox a try, see if I could find a toy that would last. While I really liked the idea of this subscription service it wasn't for us.

With BarkBox you get toys and treats for your lovable pet, you can choose what size your dog is, so you get the perfect products, if you like the items you received you can go back through their site and order more.

When you sign up using my referral link you get a free month box with subscription purchase. My free box came with

My dog LOVED the treats, he destroyed the scarecrow in an hour, but surprisingly the flowers, which could be separated lasted a few weeks, he looked so cute carrying around flowers.

Once again he loved the treats, but the toys were done within a day.

Subscription rates: 1 month is $29, 6 months it's $24 per month, the 12 month subscription is $20 per month, I chose the 1 year subscription and used a prepaid card that only had $30 on it. I know a little shady, but I didn't want to spend almost $30 on something my dog either wouldn't like or would destroy in a day, which is what happened. You can cancel your subscription at anytime, but if you choose the 1 year plan for the cheaper rate, it will charge you every month for a year even if you cancel, unless you use a prepaid card that had a limited amount on it.

My opinion of this box is good, I liked it, I just wish they had more durable toys. I would recommend it to dog owners, as long as they don't have destructive chewers like me.

Bulu Box Subscription Review

I've been attempting to lose weight for 3 years now and I have been successful, I went from 215 to 160, but I'm still searching for things that will better my health and get me to my size 10 goal.

When I heard about Bulu Box, a subscription company that sends you a box of sample sized products (4-5 samples based on your profile) each month for $10 with free shipping, I thought I'd give it a try. You can choose from Bulu Box original and Bulu Box weight loss.

I've actually participated in this program twice, once for the company itself (free of charge) and then a 3 month subscription on the request of my sister. The first time I participated I was in the midst of moving and forgot to write the review (oops), the second was at the end of 2014 and Jan 2015, looking back at my review list, I realized I never wrote a review, so I thought I'd make up for it by writing it now.

How Bulu Box thinks:
"You'll LOVE discovering new products, but just as important as finding your new healthy faves is seeing which products don't work for you. Try 4-5 samples based on your profile before buying full-size so you don't waste your money."

I like being able to sample the products, such as taste, but some of the samples aren't large enough to see if they make a difference, you'll get a 1 "dose" sample and some things can take a week or more to actually start working.

I also like that you can earn points:
"Each month you can earn up to 100 Rewards Points (that's $10!) just for subscribing and sharing your thoughts. Log in to your account to fill out your sample surveys about the products you just tried. Once you've earned Rewards Points you can use them like actual cash towards a full-size purchase of your new favorite product. Some Bulugans even get their order completely free!"

Finally, if you like one or more of the products in your box you can buy it right from the Bulu Box site, just click Buy next to the item you liked.

My opinion on Bulu Box, is that I like the concept, but it's not for me, my sister on the other hand loves it. So, my recommendation is that if this is something that may interest you, go for the one month subscription, just to see if you like it, please note that all plans automatically renew each month, but can be cancelled at anytime.

Suave Kids Wild Watermelon 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner Review

I had bought my daughter, Mary, Suave Kids Wild Watermelon 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner because it was on sale and I had a coupon.

Mary has very thick hair, that I recently had bobbed because it's hard for her to manage. She's been using it for a few weeks now and every time I wash her hair...OMG the smell, it's AMAZING! It smells like watermelon Bubalicious. This shampoo is tear free, hypoallergenic, which is another reason why we use it, not just because I bought it on sale, shampoo in the eyes is the worst especially for kids.

When Mary gets a little older though I'll switch her to something better suited for her hair type, but for me...I may keep using her shampoo. This is where my actual review comes in.

During the long Memorial Day weekend, I had been doing A LOT of outdoor work in 90* heat, I was gross at the end of each day and would therefore take a shower. I was running out of shampoo and kept forgetting to bring more it in, so I used Mary's shampoo for those 4 days.

Now, my hair type is thick, but very fine. I very rarely find a shampoo that works with my hair, but I think I finally have with Suave Kids Wild Watermelon 2 in 1 Shampoo & Conditioner. It makes my hair super soft and shiny, it's been ages since my hair has been this nice and all because of a KIDS hair product.

So, if you have fine hair like I do, I recommend Suave for kids, it's cheap enough to give it a try and comes in a few different scents and even comes in a 3 in 1 (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) variety. You can find it just about anywhere (Walmart, grocery stores, Rite Aid, Walgreens, etc.), prices vary and are more expensive in the pharmacy stores and cheapest at Walmart at $1.88.

Mr. Biscuits - Burning Love Hot Sauce Review

My co-workers have a thing for spicy, I don't know how they do it, since a Slim Jim makes my mouth feel like the pits of Hell. So, when I saw a company looking for reviewers for a hot sauce, I thought I'd treat one of my co-workers/best friend with something that would put a little step in her giddy up, plus the name was just awesome: Mr. Biscuits Burning Love Hot Sauce.

I gave the hot sauce to my friend this morning at work, since she didn't have anything to put it on, she drank it. Yes, folks, you read that correctly DRANK it and loved it. She said that it had a smokey salsa like flavor, where the tomato taste was very evident, which was great.

The heat on a scale of 1 being meh to 10 being sweet baby Jesus I see the light, she put it at a 6.5. It had a lingering heat, that made her perspire and fan herself a bit.

Her overall opinion of it was that it had a unique flavor and was very good. She recommends it and can see herself bring it to a BBQ to share the Burning Love.
