Peeled Snacks Review and Giveaway

When I contacted Peeled Snacks about reviewing their product, they kindly accepted and offered to sponsor a giveaway as well! A few weeks later I received their product to review; they had sent me the Organic Fruit Picks Variety Pack, which came with 2 each of pine-4-Pineapple, Banan-a-peel & Apricot-a-lot, and 3 each of much-ado-about-Mango & Apple-2-the-core.

Over the past few weeks, I've been snacking on the variety of dried fruit a little at a time, I'm even eating them as I write this review, so that my opinion is "fresh".

Apple-2-the-core: I found the apples to be a little tart, so I personally didn't care for them and up until a few minutes ago my daughter wouldn't try them because of their texture (spongy). As soon as I began writing this review though, she started begging for the packages in front of me, so I gave her a bag and she's gone to town on them and has eaten half a bag thus far, so they can't be too bad.

Apricot-a-lot: The Apricots, I have mixed feelings about, to the point where I can't tell if I like them or not. The outside is very dry (yeah I know dried fruit, lol), almost to where it feels powdery (this is the part I don't like), but the inside is moist and semi-gooey (the part I like). The flavor is good and is not at all tart or overwhelmingly sweet. As I said before I'm torn on whether I like them or not, the outside texture is what's holding me up on my decision to like them.

Much-ado-about-Mango: Let me start off by saying I can't stand mangos, but I LOVE dried mangos, yes I know I'm odd, but I can't help it, lol, I also like tomato sauce and meat, but not meat in my sauce, go figure, I digress. I used to buy the big bags dried mangos from Costco and eat them like they were going out of style until I realized how many carbs they had and "slowed my roll", to avoid gaining a roll, lol. Since Peeled Snacks doesn’t add any sugar to their fruit, I realized how much sugar must have been in the mangos from Costco, the difference between the two brands of dried mangos is very evident, the ones from Costco were almost candy sweet, while the Peeled Snack brand has just a hint of sweetness, enough to satisfy a craving. The only thing I wish differently about the Peeled Snack mangos is that they were thicker, but besides that they're great.

Pine-4-Pineapple: While the pineapples had the appearance of cow molars (at least the bigger chunks) and a funky texture, they were delicious! They were very sweet, almost overwhelmingly so. The only negative thing I can find is that they are like regular pineapples and if you eat too many your tongue starts to burn or at least mine did.

Banan-a-peel: The dried bananas I couldn't try, I have almost a phobia about eating bananas, I've had it since I can remember, just the thought of eating one makes me want to gag (no dirty jokes please). So, for this fruit, I'll have to consult my husband on what he thought about them.
