Oral-B Professional Toothbrush Review

I was given the Oral-B Professional Precision 1000 electric toothbrush to review by Modern Mom. After only using it for a month, I only have one word to describe it "Epic," can I add another one? Of course I can it's my blog, my rules, my other one word is "LOVE."

Before I was sent this toothbrush, I hated brushing because my teeth never felt clean, at all. I would brush softly and my teeth wouldn't feel clean, I brushed harder and my gums would bleed and I'd still have plaque on my gum line. It didn't matter what I used, my teeth just never felt or got clean.

The Precision 1000 is easy to set up, put the ring at the bottom of the brush head, snap it on the body and place it on the plugged in charger. One thing I noticed, is that once it's charged, the toothbrush can stay unplugged for almost a week and keep plenty of charge to brush.

The first time I used this toothbrush, it was a mess. It was my first time using an electric toothbrush and by the time I was done, it looked like I was foaming at the mouth, the toothpaste oozed and poured out of my mouth when I tried to do the back of my front teeth, and it splattered all over my mirror and sink (if you end up buying one, remember to turn it off when you take it out of your mouth, lol). The end result (besides the mess)? Awesome feeling teeth, I'm not exaggerating at all, my teeth felt like I just went to the dentist and my gum line, which is next to impossible for me to clean with a toothbrush, CLEAN!

A great feature about the Precision 1000 is that it will stop if you brush to hard and looking back now, with how easy it turns off while brushing, is I was brushing my teeth WAY to hard with a normal toothbrush. The brush head is just like a dentists cleaning tool, it's small and round, so you can reach and clean every individual tooth perfectly.

You might be thinking, clean every individual tooth, I don't have time for that or that's a little over the top, I know I would've thought that, but this toothbrush has changed my brushing habits completely and for the better. I clean every tooth because I know how good they will feel after and how clean they will be, O and it takes no longer then normal brushing takes. I now look forward to brushing my teeth because I know they'll be clean when I'm done, it's no longer a necessary chore. My husband says I'm obsessed with it because every time I brush with the Precision 1000, I run my tongue along my teeth and say "My teeth feel so awesome right now."

A little story before I wrap this review up:
Yesterday I was in a HUGE rush, my alarm didn't go off, I was a half hour late at waking up and I had an appointment in 40 minutes. So, to multi-task and get out of there, I brushed my teeth in the shower with a manual toothbrush. When I got in the car, I ran my tongue over my teeth and all I can say is "Ew," my teeth felt nasty and unclean, I was miserable and almost embarrassed the entire time I was gone, until I got home and brushed my teeth with my electric toothbrush. I would have NEVER re-brushed my teeth in the past.

The only negative thing I found with the Precision 1000 is the replacement heads are expensive, around $10 for 1 and $25 for 3. I almost choked on my tongue when I saw those prices! That was after the first week of using it and I was like, well guess it's back to a manual toothbrush after this, since I have never paid over $3 for a toothbrush before. After the second week, I really started thinking I can't go back to a manual, after the third week I refused to go back to a manual. I was able to find an 8 pack of replacement heads at Costco for $36.99.

This toothbrush is a fantastic investment, I'm cheap, like super cheap, frugal, whatever you want to call it, so if I drop almost $40 on replacement heads, you know it's got to be something special. I have fallen in love with this toothbrush and will never go back to a manual brush unless I absolutely have to.

Do your teeth a favor and check them out, they are normally $75, but right now on Walmart.com they are only $37 (comes with whitening strips too)! Get one before they're gone and remember to use Ebates and get money back for your purchase (search Walmart once you're logged in and click the link, then search Precision 1000).

There is also a Mail-in rebate offered by Oral-B right now, so buy your toothbrush in the next week and save! Oral-B is offering a $20 mail-in rebate on select power toothbrushes July 1 through September 30, 2012.
