Little Cosmetics Review

I applied to write a review on Little Cosmetics because my 3 year old daughter, Mary, LOVES makeup. Every time we go to my mom's house, my mom lets her play with eyeshadow, the result? A big mess on her face and her crying as I try to get the makeup away from her, making me feel like a bad mommy.

Usually I wait a week or two to write a review on an item, but I really just couldn't wait with this, mainly because my daughter's excitement transferred over to me. Below is a picture of the Essential Set I received from the little Cosmetics company.

 The Essential Set includes:

- One Pressed Powder Compact
- One Lip Gloss
- One Pink Blush Compact
- One Glitter Shadow Pot
- One Eye Shadow Palette
- Makeup Brush Set

- Nonbreakable Mirror

The great thing about these pieces? The brushes are REAL (even mom can use them) and the makeup is FAKE, I know they look real right? When I first opened them I was like "Oh, God I thought this was going to be fake makeup?" Well it was, it only looks real, it's actually very realistic colored foam.
I knew Mary would be ecstatic over her new toys, so I had her sit on the floor and handed her the bag; if a picture is worth a thousand words, check out the one below :)

Once she took out all the individual pieces, she got right to it. When she opened the first compact and tried to use the eye shadow brush to get the makeup on it, she was confused when nothing came up, but after I explained to her that the makeup was pretend, she didn't look back. Mary opened each piece and carefully "applied" her makeup, using the brushes (see the pictures below).

It was so adorable watching her do this and the best part? Hardly any clean up and definitely no mess to wipe up. She sat on the floor for at least 2 hours, just "applying" makeup, using all the different brushes, she even made sure to "do" my makeup. That's another thing I love about this set, since the brushes are real I don't have to worry about her poking my eye out (a lot of kids makeup sets have fake plastic applicators...ouch).

Needless to say, this product gets a BIG A+ from me and my daughter, this is definitely one of her favorite toys. The only hard part is getting her to keep all the pieces together...OOOO brilliant idea from Mommy, I'll give her one of my Target beauty bags! Yay, that solves that :)

You can purchase the Little Cosmetics sets (or even individual pieces) on their website or Amazon. Sets start at $20 (which is the one I got) and individual pieces start at $3.50.

Great news. I've been given a chance to give one of these sets away to a lucky fan, so if you know any little girls, enter! This would be a perfect gift.
a Rafflecopter giveaway  I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
